Agility and the Coton de Tulear
Participating in Agility with your CasaBlanca Coton
Miley in a competition with "her kid"
who is also her handler and trainier
Agility is a sport in which the dog and handler navigate an
obstacle course in a particular order. It is the fastest
growing dog sport in America, with all ages of human and
canine in competition. It is quite possibly the ultimate
"game" as far as your dog is concerned and spectators
always flock to ringside to cheer on their favorites.
Each course is a little different and based on the height of
the dog and which organization it is. Each team is judged
on performance and speed. You do not have to be a
professional to compete in agility with your Coton de Tulear,
and many owners just attend agility training classes with
their COton to deepen their bond and to expand their "fun".
There are several agililty organizations in the US, and
almost everyone is within distance of an agility club.
Cotons in general, and our bloodlines in particular, really
excel at this sport. Your Coton wants nothing more than to
spend time with you, his owner, and he wants to please you
and play games with you. Agiilty training and competition is
exciting and fun for you and thrilling for your Coton when he
makes the mental connection that you are out there on
course with him running around and all those people are
clapping "just" for him!

can see just how much fun he is having!
