Coton de Tulear and other pets
Does the Coton de Tulear get along well
with other pets in the home?
Oftentimes we are asked if the Coton will get
along with other animals. In our over two
decades of experience, we have never had a
problem with either a Coton joining a family
with other pets, or someone getting another
pet after they have their Coton.
We always recommend smart introduction practices, and will be happy to assist you should you need advice on how best to merge your "animal family".
We have Cotons that live with other breeds of dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds, etc. They are remarkable in that they are not really all that overly "dominant" in behavior towards one another. We have many, many families that have gotten multiple Cotons from us and all have thoroughly enjoyed expanding their Coton family - often asking themselve, "Why did we wait so long?"
